The Art Of Life

How You & Everything Is Art

No matter how you look at it, Everything you do, see, create, ect... Is a form of art in this world. Weather you know it or not, or perhaps you may not be sure on how to look at things in such a way, allow me to show you how.

Think of a kaleidoscope, the kind you may have had when you were a kid. Every time you turned it, or shook it, it would change. Your perspective of an ever changing mini world of color changed along with it. Life and art changes as you start to look at things in a different light.

Well, for starters, we must ask ourselves the big question. What exactly is art?

Is art something we hang up? Is art beautiful or even ugly? Is art quite or loud? Is art what we say, do or what we wear?

Yes. All of the above and more is true. Art is what we breath life into.

It is something that is ancient, that lives all around the world.

You and I create art EVERY SINGLE DAY.

It may not be with paint, ink or clay, the stuff that you might typically think of that its made of first thing. No. Art is something much deeper rooted within ourselves.

In the way we laugh, how we treat others, the type of job that you go to everyday, to even in the way we see the world and experience it.

Life can be exuberating, fast, colorful, soulful, and even though we may not like it, downhearted.

As Oscar Wilde put it, "Life imitates art far more than art inmates life."

(This is one of my favorite quotes by far about life and art together.)

Why Is Art Important?

Not only does art live in everything and everyone, its both the most simple and complex thing there is.

You may fancy certain art more than others. You may even like to hang out in art galleries and museums. Taking in all the culture over the centuries that has to offer.

I wonder... Are you the type that glances around and soon leaves? Or do you go up to what's on display and read the little plaques that tell you the short story of its life?

You may be the kind to tune in with a pair of headphones from the museum, strolling around while a body-less voice whispers in your ears, enriching you with facts and about the art and artists.

Every culture and civilization has given us findings of their lives and what it was like for them. How they communicated, survived, cooked, and began their own writings and languages. How did they all become so different than their neighbors? When they where just merely and happen to be living on a different patch of land.

I don't know about you, but I find it completely fascinating that somehow halfway around the globe, there are/were people whos lives are so different to one another.

How they themselves decided that one day life was going to be a certain way. And over time collected bits and parts along the way and made a whole. Have started rituals, dances, stories, experiences and life's works for others to see, hear, and touch.

Sadly not everything is recorded or passed down through the years and generations, and have become mystery.

Be as it may, even the mysteries give us that live in the now, hope and curiosity.

Art is imagination. Art is teaching. Art is love and understanding. Art is us and we are it.

For when we come across something new, we can't help but get a little excited and maybe a small part of us gets scared. This is just humans being human.

And this is all a part of Art and Life continuingly intertwining.

So the next time you laugh, it just may be your great great aunts laugh echoing back.

When you decide to be a cautious driver, you might be unknowingly saving a life on the road.

When you prepare a meal that has been a family recipe for decades, you savor every bite.

When you take up a pen or brush, something completely, uniquely YOU is brought forth.

You. The Masterpiece

In conclusion, just like that little kaleidoscope I mentioned in the beginning, life changes on what we decide next. On what we create. On who we are. Everchanging. Leaving something behind as a legacy for others to admire.

We are artist by nature. Beautiful. Messy. Complicated. Inspiring.

Please don't take anything for granted in this beautiful world. Be confident in who you are and where you come from. Don't forget to show kindness to others.

And never, stop creating, evolving into art yourself. For you are the greatest masterpiece that you will ever work on. You are your own life's work. Embrace it! Show it off!

Until next time, loves. Xx. -A

Currently: An update on Kiko, (the little bonsai tree that was panted from seed,) has sprouted two tiny sprouts on 2/2/23!! I'm so happy and have already started documenting the process. (Photos to come.)

I've been binge watching Criminal Minds S16 with my mom, and can't get enough.

I'm about to demolish a box of Oreo thins, and finish up on my night routine of self care.

And (as I have done before a handful of times,) I will go to a few art and museums around the world in one day. By this I clearly mean by the comfort of my bed, and taking virtual tours online. It's more fun than it sounds, trust me.

Have a pleasant day, or night! Also, (THE PODCAST WILL BE LAUNCHING ON FEBUARY 24TH.)
