Making Money with Photography

4 quick and easy ways YOU can start today!

Hello! Welcome to the Money Motivation Mindset blog! However, if you are a regular weekly reader, I wholeheartedly welcome you back.

This week, I will be discussing how you can turn you passion for photography, from hobby to career.

As long as you have a camera, a phone and/or laptop, of course. And internet. Don't want to forget about that.

So, here is the 4-step plan I have created just for you!

1) Get a Camera

This one is kind of a no brainer. Although, if you have to start out with your phone, and you truly believe it shows off your work and its worthy, then by all means go for it! Even if you are just learning photography, this is a great time to play around and see what fits you.

You may enjoy nature photography, (this is my favorite,) or even personal portraits. And that is only two examples. There is so much more to capture out there. That only YOU can take.

However, a decent camera from stores such as Best Buy, Walmart or even Amazon and wonderful choices and colors to choose from.

I do recommend that you don't pool all of your savings into a $1,000 + camera.

You may find that this isn't your specialty or may not even like this as a chosen career.

At first, try to find one that is around the $100 -$400 range. You want one that professional while not breaking the bank.

For most of my photography, I use a sparkly, dark blue KODAK PIXPRO AZ528.

And has been pretty durable. Considering that I take everywhere, and it was endured moving from state to state. It is available at Walmart for $199.00.

2) Research

Like with any career, it is wise to start with learning all that you can, in order to be great at it.

With living in a world where most have a touch of a button at their fingertips. Where you are just a click away from immense information. There is so much that is free and easy to find out in the world wide web.

Within minutes, you can go to other blogs or to YouTube to find a wide range of information that will help you learn better skills.

And there is so much more that you can learn, even though you may think that you have enough knowledge, more will always be an ally.

3) Create a Portfolio or Blog

Make sure to have a space, (off and online,) to showcase your work.

This is essential, if you so choose to make money AND be taken serous.

Make it a habit to have some handy on you all the time. As well as your camera.

You never know what sorts of opportunity may come your way.

Whatever you do, please don't look at this like it's work.

Have fun with it and create a space where it shows your authentic self and style of your photography!

I use Wix to create my blogs for free. There is also a paid version that may interest you as well. (I recommend starting with the free version to see if you like it. And if so, keep an eye out for when they have their 50% off sale. Usually around once a month.)

4) Selling Platforms

I have found a few selling platforms that you can start selling your work.

As soon as you have completed the following steps first, that is.

This is where you start building your brand and your name.

Not to mention where you start to see revenue.

There is so much beauty and inserting moments in time, only you can catch and offer people.

Hold faith in yourself and keep at it. And eventually you will be the better for it and you will be so glad that you stuck to your passions.

I'm rooting for you!
