10 Ways To Single Life On Valentines Day
First of all, Happy Valentines day, loves! Even though I have written this blog post before the 14th, It will be going live on this lovey/mushy holiday. Don't get me wrong It's a good day. When you fall between the lines of being in a relationship or married.
For me that is, I actually have always been single on this day. And yes. I have had my share in a few relationships. But they weren't even close to lasting a year.
So every year of my entire 23 year old life, I have picked up a few tips and tricks to actually enjoy this day. With or without a lover. (Even though this post is mainly for my fellow single ladies. It can be to whomever finds this helpful!)
Set the mood! There is a playlist titled "Romcom" that has some pretty groovy tunes. Your welcome!
About a week ago I got into the romance movie mood and stumbled upon one of the most amazing films known to man. "How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days."
It had been years since I'd sat down and watched it. And by the time the movie was over, while watching it with my mom and sister, I began to think on this holiday and wondered what I could do to perhaps help other single women get through the holiday. (Such as myself and what made it fun and enjoyable.)
So, here are "10 Ways To Single Life On Valentines Day"
1. Life, Love & Romcoms.
Romcoms are your best friend. Imagine me clapping between each of those words for extra flare. Every time I watch one I can't help but laugh, cry and go "Awww" at the appropriate scenes that this calls for.
Here are 10 Movies to get you started! If you want to make it extra fun, think of it as a game. When after you finish one movie, you receive 5 points. When you finish one movie, switch it up a bit. Think of it as "oh, after I reach 10 points, I have to get up and workout." And "Once I get up to 20 points a can reward myself with some online shopping" And so on. You get the idea.

2. Buy Yourself Flowers.
Like the song "Flowers" by Miley, suggests. Buy the flowers. Talk to yourself for hours.
Because spending time with yourself and indulging in self-love/care is the top ticket to on this day! And by this I clearly don't mean a 20 step routine. I guess if that is what makes you feel good, then by all means go for it! As for me, I like to keep it to a 5 or less step routine.
What is your love language? Whatever your answer is, act on it. You are a strong and independent Women! You don't need to wait until someone else sees this and shows you. You are more than capable of seeing your needs/wants and acting on them.
(Keep in mind this post is mainly for the female gender. But if you happen to be other, then you too!)
3. Either Get Comfy Or Go All Out!
Depending on who you are and comfortable with, being a introvert or extrovert, this applies heavily. Throw on that dress in your closet that you've been dying to wear. With little heels to match. Do your makeup and hair. Don't forget to spray on a lovely fragrance and go out with some friends! You could even go for a walk to grab a coffee to jumpstart your day.
Or... Stay home and put on a clean set of comfy clothes, (as long as it's not what you slept in.) click play to your feel good, music while getting the ice-cream out or other types of comfort food. Next, it' time to watch some of those romcoms I listed above.
For the rest of the day, do what makes you happy. As long as it's not work. (unless you have to.) Treat it as a "me day."
A spa like day is highly encouraged!
4. Get up Early.
Don't sleep the day away, girl. Get up early and seize it! Sleeping in will only make you feel sluggish and miss out on all the great things you could be doing.
Wake up, make your bed, take a shower, brush teeth ect and get excited.
Even though I might not leave the house, I usually skip the makeup part, but I still do my hair and pop on some jewelry.
For the first part of the day, it's important to feel refreshed and rearing to go.
And don't forget a healthy but tasty breakfast! Oh, what the hell. Throw "healthy to the wind have that ice-cream for breakfast. It's a holiday so it doesn't count in my book.
Unless your on a diet that's right for you. Then I say to you, "You got this!"
5. Listen To A Podcast.
Are you the kind of person who likes to listen to podcasts while going about the day?
Well then your in luck! There are SO MANY to choose from out there. Ranging from motivation, to true crime, and everything in between.
Simply choose the right one for you and get inspired or learn something new!
Better yet, you can make a podcast. For free might I add. All you have to do is go to YouTube and search "How to start a podcast" and boom! you are already on the right track. Take a good while and ponder on what your most passionate about and go from there. Have fun and good luck! (You can find the "Write Your Life" podcast available on February 24th!)
6. Make A Vision Board!
Call up your friends or the "cool" relatives and get creative with making a vision board. It's still very much early in the year, and if your having a hard time with sticking to your new years resolutions already, this is highly recommended.
Pull out the magazines, (or printer,) stick glue, scissors, the works. And hang that ungodly gaudy thing up in a place where you are going to see it and stay inspired.
Pro tip: For the ones that are looking for love, put down your ideal soulmate and manifest them!
7. Don't wallow.
I can't stress this one enough. Don't wallow. If you start your day in this kind of mindset, then you are setting it up for disappointment and "bad vibes."
Yes, bad days come along. There is no life without the good, the bad, the beautiful and the ugly.
There is no need to atomically start to think of all of the things you "could be doing."
And another tip, you you are easily influenced by social media, take a break from it for the day.
Trust me. Don't compare others relationships with yours.
Your life is completely different. So there will be something equally wonderfully different waiting for you. Either you win or learn. That's not only for relationships, but for everything.
And by all means, DO NOT STALK YOUR PAST LOVERS.
8. Treat Yourself.
If you haven't done this step already, make sure to make time and treat yourself!
I'm not saying go and purchase a round trip ticket to Paris and back, (Even though that would be pretty cool. Not gonna lie.)
I'm saying, that if there happens to be something that you've been wanting, and you have the money, but seem to be a conscious or instantly think to yourself "I don't really need it." type of person, please get it. And further, if it was for someone else you cared about that wanted it, you would jump at the chance to buy it.
Why not take yourself into consideration and do something nice for you!
9. End The Procrastination.
You know that thing that's been on your mind, but you can't seem to stop putting it off and procrastinating? Do it. You will feel automatically accomplished in something and have energy to finish the rest of the things on this list.
Speaking for myself, if I don't complete a project or finish something I've been putting off, I can't seem to get it out of my mind or off my shoulders.
It's best to get it done and over with.
You can do this. Stop procrastinating.
10. Endgame.
And after all of this, you still need a pick me up, I got ya covered.
I have said it once, and I will say it again. The real holiday is the day after valentines.
Why is that, you ask? Three little words my friend. And no, its not the ones that typically come to mind. It's "Chocolates. On. Sale!"
Practically every single store that carries chocolate will have them half off or more throughout the week! It can be up to 75% off in a couple days. (If you can wait that long. I'm definitely not that patient.)

Currently: I'm currently blasting the song "I Shot Cupid" by Stela Cole. I know... Perfect timing for this post. Am I right? I actually laughed out loud when it started playing on one of my YouTube playlists.
bonsai tree update: "Kiko" has three sprouts now and is looking bright and healthy 2/5/23.
We are getting closer to the podcast show "Write Your Life" launch date! The 24th of February. I'm both incredible excited to say the least, although the pre show jitters are starting to creep in a bit. But that is not going to stop me from doing it.
Peanut butter toast and hot chocolate seem to be the snack of the evening. And that's pretty much the 411 lately. Stay golden, loves! Until next Tuesday.
It is funny because you can use these tips for your everyday life and not just on Valentines Day. I understand what you mean too. I think some people can’t be bothered seeing everyone with their significant other blowing up on social media especially Instagram haha. I think buying gifts for yourself can be fun. I bought myself a vintage bag I always loved and it happen to appear on a consignment site in amazing shape looks brand new. The Rom Coms are great. I love your recommendations. I don’t know if Clueless is one but I always found this movie funny. Leap Year was another I loved. I can’t think of anymore at the moment but I will say…
