Flying into September, by broom.
Tomorrow is September 1st, loves! Which means it's the day to ride the express train back to Hogwarts and get back to the usual studies and mayhem.
So, sit back, enjoy a chocolate frog, (or two) and a nice butterbeer, because it's about to get magical up in here!
(If you be muggle, there is no need to continue. Have a nice day.)
Alright, now it's just us witches and wizards, I can offer the very best things to do before returning to Hogwarts! And how you can celebrate September 1st the right way.
Are you ready to get your mischief managed? Well, we shall see.
First, we have to show off our House pride! You'll want to dress your best, in the lovely colors of Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, or Hufflepuff!
(I'll be wearing Green. Of course. ;)
Now that we are dressed, it's time to really have some fun! (If you haven't started already.)
These are a good rule of thumb things I usually stick to, are as follows.
And you really can't go wrong with them either, for any home, and any witch or wizard.
List Of Wonders!
1. Candles. Candles everywhere. tall ones, fat ones, stout ones, house colors, you name it.
2. Ambiance is key. To make it feel cozier and get you feeling as if you are already there and settled in, you can go to YouTube here for Hogwarts ambiances. (For maximum feels, put it on your Television set.
3. Snacks are a must! If you have a Books-a-million store nearby, they have wonderful butterbeer and chocolate frogs ready to eat! Although, if you prefer to make your own treats, such as Pumpkin juice, Hagrid's famous rock cakes, Treacle tart, or even some Polyjuice potion, if you dare. (Even though I've never found it to be particularly "tasty" as it is helpful.)
4. Catch up on any pre learning beforehand. You can do a bit of light reading, of Quidditch Through the Ages, and Hogwarts a History, to start at.
5. Pack your trunk the night before. Make sure to pack robes, ticket to the Hogwarts express, money for trolly goodies, a polished wand (in a safe case.) a folded uniform items, schoolbooks, cauldron, and extra chocolate, for enjoyment eating and just in case of Dementors. (And don't forget to bring your pet and it's needs as well!) Also, remember your self-care things. Just because we are off who knows where, doesn't mean we can slack off on our facials and journaling.
6. Test your wand out, (and have a little light fun with the muggles!) But I suggest learning the Magical cover charm first. Also known as Magica Operimentum. That way no one can detect that you're using any magic at all! Brilliant! right? Simply say the correct term mentioned second, and holding your wand with your dominant hand, point your wand towards your feet, in a motion moving quickly over your body, finishing with one swirl around your head.
7. Lastly, it's time to sit back and watch or read the Harry Potter series! Curled up on the couch, being magical and all that.
Have a Charming day!
And there are your plans for the day! I hope this article was helpful. Although it's no Daily Prophet, I still think it's pretty good.
If you happen have some favorite things you like to do on this day, please feel free to comment below! I would love to hear em!
And my goodness, if you haven't already been sorted into your Hogwarts House yet, get going to the WizardingWorld.com and let me know what house you are in, in the comments!
I'm a proud Slytherin, lover of sweets, quidditch games, and I find mythical creatures fascinating!
Have a terrific time at school and have a beautiful day! Xx. -A
Currently: I'm Prepping for tomorrow with all of the great ideas I've previously mentioned in this article! Yes, there is a lot to do, but it's super fun too.
Lately I've kept my eyes open for more signs of fall, and being the autumn person that I am, have found a few already. Needless to say, I'm so happy for the holidays to be so close upon us! (I already have vintage fall music playing in the background, as I write.)
As for the romance novel, my romcom, A mystical Romance, was to be this fall, although the publishing date has been set to April 15th. Which wish it was sooner, but some things have to be done in order to have the right book launch and other surprises to come!
As for the Podcast, there will be a new episode there this Friday! So, be sure to tune in here, at Write Your Life with Astria Mikaelson podcast.
I also noticed that last week I didn't write an article for this blog or the other. The reason being is because lately I've taken some extra time for myself. (As we all need to do.) But I always look forward to writing on here. I just wanted to let my dear readers know, and that everything is going wonderful.
This was a fun read and a great way to welcome in September. I’m recovering from surgery at the moment but I love seeing your new posts and projects.
