Right off from the beginning, I am going to boldly say, (This is what worked for me. I do not 100% guarantee anything for others because everyone and their skin is different.)
If you are still here after reading that, great! Because I'm about to give one of the most simple and affordable skin care routines on the planet.
Cleansing
The first step is cleansing. Before we add any products to that lovely face of yours, we have to make sure it's clean. Otherwise, you can trap dirt, sweat and other not so helpful free radicals. And nobody wants that.
I usually do this step once in the morning and skip at night IF I haven't worn any makeup that day. Although if I did so wear any sort of makeup, I will do this once in the morning and once in the evening (about an hour before bed.) to help a light and easy clean.
At the end of last month, which was the last week of February, I started using this product, and now its the 21st of March. As you can see, It's a new product for me but I've had it long enough to see results that have worked for me and see if it fits my skin type.
The product is called "GARNIER SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water" It is an All-in-1, which removes makeup + cleanses + soothes. It also states on the front of the bottle, "No rinse, (although I still like to do a light rinse,) no harsh rubbing. For face, lips, eyes. All skin types, even sensitive." (It also has no oil, alcohol, or fragrance.)
What Is/How to Use Micellar? And Why Do I Need It in My Life?
Now you might be thinking, if you haven't heard of Micellar before, is, what is it?
You can think of it as a sort of magnet which capture and lift away dirt, oil, and makeup easily without leaving a feel of over drying. Which I love!
How to use it? I either take the "cotton rounds" the soft and gentle kind, OR since I switched to the reusable and washable face rounds, (these are cheaper in the long run AND helps the environment too because you're wasting less. Win, win!)
You want to put a decent amount of the product directly to the face round and lightly rub it onto your face and neck. Next, I lightly splash my face with water. Even though you don't have to. Just make sure you don't get the product in your eyes. If you do, rinse thoroughly with water.
This step is all done! yay! Now on to the next, and final step. (Also a few extra tips towards the end.)
Moisturizer Time!
I found this product in the beginning of this month, and I can safely say that I haven't come across one that was this perfect for my skin ever before now!!
It's "Aveeno Calm+Restore for sensitive skin Oat Gel Moisturizer."
And let me tell you, after these last harsh and chilly winter months, I noticed that my skin was getting way to dry. So, I tried a few different "skin care" products that were supposed to help. Although, because of my sensitive skin, they only caused more dryness and I was even a little worried about my skin barer, especially on my forehead.
I could definitely tell that I needed to do some research on my skin and what would be better for its healthy recovery. (But we will get to that shortly.)
But after using this Aveeno moisturizer, I could instantly feel my skin smoother and softer to the touch! (And I always give honest reviews.)
In fact, I don't think I've ever met an Aveeno product that I didn't adore. But this one deserves extra praise.
And there you have it! My two step and easy soft skincare routine.
Below I have listed a couple extra ones I incorporate during the week when I go for this look.
Extra Products That Go with This Routine
Some days I swap out the Aveeno Moisturizer for a product called "SKIN Aesthetics Advanced Brightening Facial Moisturizer Vitamin C & Collagen."
It leaves your skin looking brighter and refreshed. I would definitely recommend it!
Now, this next one is for the lips. And even though we want our face/neck (and don't forget the rest of the body,) to be soft and moisturized, we want to help keep our lips like this too. I personally use "Carmex classic lip balm medicated lip protectant sunscreen spf 15" to leave a soothing and cooling effect.
How I Found My Skin Type
Remember when I said I had to do some research to find the best products for me?
Well, after viewing at least a dozen videos and checking multiple sites about skin care, I found some really good information. BUT it wasn't exactly what I was looking for.
But I figured when I took my next trip to the mall, I would check out what they had there. I stumbled upon a box called, "Skinsei skin diagnostic test" and as it would have it, it was on sale. I was like "Oh yeah, your coming home with me!"
In the box, it came with a couple different tests for me to do at home, to figure out my skin type, wheather it's dry, sensitive, oily, ect... And other things such as about how my environment, food, stress, sleep, ect, was having an effect on my skin. I know. Pretty cool, right?
As it turs out, I had dry skin (which I thought it was going to be oily but just had been dehydrated for awhile.) I have slightly sensitive skin, and my acidic level was 6.0 to 6.5. (Everyone has a certain level of Ph. level that's different for everyone.)
And they even have an online website that has products that is right for you!
Even though I haven't tried any of those products yet, I just might sometime.
Have A Good One!
In the spirit of #TextureTuesday I thought an overall a soft and clean skincare routine sounded perfect!
I hope you have a wonderful day, loves! And until next time, au revoir! Xx. -A
Currently: It's a lovely afternoon, although it would be nice to see a bit more sun, for this Spring Day. A few of my favorite things that I'm looking forward to in Spring include Seeing the flowers blooming, berry picking, picnics, Spring cleaning, and sunny days.
Tonight, I will be prerecording this week's Podcast episode, in which I can't wait to share!
And good news! The Esty shop is up and running! So I've been extra busy with that. I'll make sure to make a post for the details soon. Xx.
This was a lot of great information. I am always hesitant to trying different cleansers, because of how sensitive my skin is and I get irritated easily. These sound like great choices that I definitely want to try for myself. https://www.bauchlefashion.com/2023/03/the-5-best-accessories-to-shop-from.html?m=1
