5 Simple Ways You Can Be More Sustainable
Believe it or not, there are surprisingly many ways that YOU can easily switch up your lifestyle, in order to be more eco-friendly this autumn!
And I'm going to tell you exactly how.
(Fun fact, you can use these helpful tips and tricks all year round!)
1) Buy Locally
When you choose to buy local in your town or city, it makes a huge impact on the community!
That way you are helping to create a positive change for you and those around you. Not to mention, the local sellers and vendors around the holiday seasons.
If it's fresh fruits and veggies, or you just happen to pick up a pumpkin, it matters.
And it's SO much nicer eating healthy foods you know that hasn't been put through the ringer with GMO's and pesticides.
While you're there, it's a perfect place to take the family for a lil pumpkin picking and doughnuts and cider!
2) Zero Waste Decor
Everyone loves a new decoration look around the autumn and winter seasons!
And this year, you can choose a natural and organic approach.
I've seen some of the most beautiful decorations made from natural creations.
And have, (and continue to) make at least one thing that is unique and eco-friendly as possible.
Not sure what to use? Easy. Bundle up, take a refreshing walk. It's good for you AND you can pick up a few things along the way. Like acorns, pinecones, leaves, twigs, ect...
If you are the artsy type like myself, you can use what you have around the house to bring these items to life! Perhaps add some glitter to the pinecones after baking them in cinnamon, bend the twigs and tie them into a handmade wreath to hang on the door, dry the leaves and hang them as garland above the mantle. The ideas are fun and endless.
3) Buy Secondhand
This one might be a no brainer. However, it can be tempting to go out and buy the latest fashions. I don't blame you. It's perfectly fine to get things that you like. But everything doesn't have to be a luxury brand name for it to look cute and keep you warm.
Truth be told, I don't have a need to go out and get something purely because it has someone's name on it or as such. Sure, it's nice to have these things.
But with the economy right now, most people don't have the extra to be splurging like that.
Secondhand shopping is 100% acceptable and should be encouraged.
With all the fast fashion now-a-days, it's good to be more thoughtful in what you are purchasing and how it was made.
4) Nature Care
Take a day, when it's the most decent outside conditions and spend time with nature.
Think of all the ways how you can create change for the better for it,
You can create a compost to help give your plants a little boost before the snow comes in.
Collect or purchase a bag of seed to feed the birds and furry little critters during the colder months when it's hard for them to find nourishment.
Think of the grass and tiny things, in which you can keep the lovely colored leaves in your yard to help cover the grass and the insects to keep warm.
All of these choices can help make a lot of happy and healthy living wildlife have a better winter. And it is all because of you, that you decided to do something with a caring heart!
5) Thoughtful Travel
There are SO many fun and exciting things to do during the months of October, November and December! Most things are either pretty cheap or free to enjoy.
When traveling, mostly driving, you can reduce your carbon footprint A LOT during this time.
Plan ahead and bring the family along for a fun and remarkable day. Carpooling is a great way to spend time with the ones you love and help save on gas, all at the same time.
It's not only practical but eco-friendly efficient as well! Win, Win!

I love to help encourage others through my writings, whether it be in my books or the blogs. And with this one, I really had fun writing!
Hope you all have a fun Mischief night & Halloween! As I am writing this on Halloween eve, & stay safe.
Until next time, Xx.-A
Currently: I've been learning all that I can about business and marketing for the online shops and such. And let me tell you, it's not easy. But I know that It will be worth it in the end.
Oh! Also, when I mentioned there was a craft fair that I went to with my mom, and it went wonderful? Well, We are booked for two more in November!
And when I say that the arts and crafts are everywhere, I mean it lol.
I'm not a big fan of this, as I like to have everything neat and organized. But it sometimes can't be helped during the holidays and craft shows. (We even have matching Christmas sweatshirts with snowmen on them to wear and I'm super excited!)
Another thing that I can't wait for, is going to see the new Marvel movie: The Marvels.
It looks super badass, and November 10th can't get here fast enough! Xx.
