Back then V.s. Now
When thinking of the Femme Fatale, my mind goes straight to those vintage movies of black and white. Where we have a character that is depicted as this complicated, gorgeous, and sometimes back then, seen as "Trouble" with a capital T.
And I have to admit, I always thought they were interesting and ahead of their time.
As the years go on, they only become more badass.
The Femme Fatale is by definition, a woman who can use her charm and beauty to manipulate or deceive typically a man. Talk about #girlpower Am I right?
And she is even sometimes close to a supernatural sort of enchantress. Depending on film, book, art, ect...
Let's be honest, I'm not the type to manipulate a person. It's just not who I am.
Although, while I'm being honest here, I have met some nasty, rude (to say the least,) sorts of men in my life, that I think deserve a taste of their own medicine.
So, if they fall between the lines of being said person, then by all means, have at em sister!
Becoming One
To me, I don't see being a Femme Fatale is a bad thing. Not everything about anyway.
You can choose to have a better, qualities and still be a good person.
Practicing some of the behaviors, might be helpful in your life.
Take confidence for instance. (I'm going to start saying "FF" short for Femme Fatale.)
Every single FF is confidant and bold. She is comfortable in her own skin.
Another thing to look at, is that she knows her worth. Not just in beauty but uses those brains of hers too. It you got, don't be afraid to use it!
And let's not forget to throw a little mysteriousness in here or there. It's good to keep them on their toes.
We've covered the how to "feel" like one. Now, let's get to how to "look like one.
As seen in the movies, the FF is ALWAYS dressing accordingly. Her fashion sense is impeccable, and everything fits right to her figure type.
And each character, as people have a signature style that separates them from the others in a room. However, the colors most chosen are black and red.
You can take this as a sign, (if you haven't already) found the right look for you.
When it comes to makeup, have fun with it. Just like the fashion side of thing, figure out what works best for you and run with it!
Usually the over-all "look" gives off a somewhat "Too hot for you" vibe.
Femme Fatales of History
Taking a time machine to when the first FF was recognized, the year 1915. We would see Theda Bara's "Vamp" like character in A Fool There Was.
Be as it may, most think back to the classic film noir FF character, which is around the 1920-1940s. (Around my favorite eras. And when the 1946 noir film, Gilda, played by Rita Hayworth, was released. Which happens to be another favorites.)
Hitting the most famously acclaimed FF, we have Barbara Stanwyck's Phyllis Dietrichson in Double Indemnity.
When it comes to real life, there are a couple that stand out from the rest.
Cleopatra, is seen as such. Not only was she extremely intelligent, and seductive, Cleo managed to become the queen of Egypt. And get this, she wasn't even Egyptian. Her parents were from Macedonian Greece.
Another is the talented Marilyn Monroe. Even though in my personal opinion, I think she is more of a role model than most might think, (supporting many charities, visited orphanages and hospitals, and supported civil rights. To name a few.)
Especially from the view in today world. She definitely had the whole mysterious and gorgeous look to her. And not the typical lifestyle that most women back in the day.
Fun Facts
The "Femme Fatale" is a term in French, meaning "Deadly woman."

Did you know, that to her male counterpart, a man can be called a "Homme Fatale."

"It is important to be feminine but still powerful."
"You can never be overdressed or overeducated."
"Being a woman is literal poetry."
"A woman that realizes her worth, is a dangerous woman."
"Be hot, have fun, and stay true to yourself. Because people will villainize you regardless."
(I came across these quotes, and the credit goes whoever wrote/came up with them.)

I've rarely come across blog posts, talking about the famously charming, and mysterious women. And I think when it comes down to it all, it's fun and even a great way to showcase that women can be this dangerous, and still show the side of being feminine at the same time.
I might just adapt a few things from this post into my life... Who knows!
Even if you happen to stumble upon this post and simply found it interesting, my work here is done.
I certainty enjoyed writing this article and learning more myself!
As always, have a lovely week, loves, and until next time, au revoir! Xx. -A
Currently: Listening to Lana Del Rey, young and beautiful, DH orchestra version.
It's late evening, and every once in a while, a hummingbird will float Infront of the feeder, perched on the windowsill. Their tiny squeak's of delight brings a smile to my face every time.
Novel update: the Romcom is coming nicely and is still set for release this autumn season.
Xx.
It just shows the double standard. Men are supposed to be suave and these bosses in life and in careers, but if a woman does it then it’s negative. I love that you gave your take on this. And I think women can be feminine and still be confident in who they are and not dress up for men but for themselves also. And your not being negative there are creep men out there and some women also who get jealous of people and I think it’s bad someone can’t wish others well. I loved this segment I’m looking forward to more of your posts. I’ve been under the weather myself and I’ll be doing some new things myself soon…
