Your Own Hallmark Movie
For all of the Christmas-y, Hallmark lovers out there, pack your bags. Because here are some spectacular towns that look like they jumped straight out of a wintry movie scene!
Have you ever been watching one of your favorite Christmas movies, all cozy and what not. And thought to yourself, "I wish I could go there."
Well, actually, you can! I can't guarantee a steamy romance, a dog, or even an unexpected turn of events, that lead you to a new realization of your life.
But what I can guarantee, is that you'll be able to visit these places and enjoy it!
Who knows, if you play your cards right, there just might have a meet cute with a tall handsome guy. And if you want the pooch too, check out a shelter, and give a little one a home and love for the holidays, instead of a cold kennel. And meeting some new friends along the way is an extra bonus. (All the big highlights from the movies.)

1. Bethlehem, PA
Take a historic horse drawn carriage ride through Bethlehem, Pennsylvanian. This Charming city is known as Christmas City for a reason. There is plenty to do here for the whole family! Bring the kiddos along to have story time with Santa, or attend the Wassail party at the Kermerer Museum.
It was even named "Bethlehem" right on Christmas eve in 1741.
2. Woodstock, VT
In Woodstock, Vermont, make sure to check out the Grange Theatre and enjoy the live music! You can even lace up those ice-skates and go skating at Union Arena.
At the end of the busy, yet fun day, book a room at the Woodstock Inn and Resort, for a relaxing atmosphere and feast.
3. Helen, GA
Tucked inside the Blue Ridge Mountains, there in a true germen inspired Christmas town, of Helen Georgia. Where the food will light up your taste buds, and the tree is a sight to behold! There is also an annual Christmas Parade, with Santa, lights, and a bonfire with smores.
Anther great thing about this place, is you can also experience a "Victorian Christmas" at the, Hardnan Farm. Here, you can even take a guided tour.
4. Mystic, CT
The seaport town of, Mystic Connecticut, is famous for many things. And around the holiday season, you are sure to have a merry of a good time!
At the Mystic River, there is the lighted boat parade, lighting up the night in a brilliant glow. Head on over to the Olde Mistick village, for the Holiday Carnival.
And if your an animal lover, there is the Mystic Aquarium, for the Norther Lights experience.
5. Asheville, NC
Take a trip to Asheville, North Carolina this season! For the foodies, you can go see the National Gingerbread House competition. Take a peak at the WNC Farmers Market. AND see "Elf The Musical" at the Asheville Community Theater!
And before you go, stop by the historic Smith McDowell House, Asheville's oldest mansion.
6. Alexandria, VA
Nothing beats a nice stroll through downtown, Alexandria, Virginia. And if you add the magic of the holidays, well... lets say you won't want to miss it!
There is the annual Scottish Christmas Walk Parade. Save room for the Cookie Crawl later, before going to the Winter Market and watching the specular fireworks!
There is also the Little Theater of Alexandria, where there is live music.
7. Leavenworth, WA
Oh, Leavenworth, Washington, how beautiful you are! The entire family can spend a day at the Reindeer Farm, see the beautiful creatures in person, and enjoy a hot chocolatey cocoa while you are there. If you need inspiration for decorations, to gift ideas, head on over to the Kris Kringle Christmas Store!
And there is even a Nutcracker Museum, where there is more than 6,000 nutcrackers to see. Something truly unique for the season.
8. Durango, CO
Ever wanted to take a trip on the real Polar Express? Well, now you can! At Durango, Colorado, Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad. Get tickets from November 18th 2022 - January 1st 2023.
Sled, snowmobile, and ski, till your hearts content. And explore the snowy mountains, while dog sledding!
9. Frankenmuth, MI
While you stay at, Frankenmuth, Michigan, the Spectacular musical tree show, is a MUST see!
Take a nighttime drive through the little Bavaria's "little" light tour.
There is also Jaycee's Joyful Jubilation, (the Neighborhood decoration contest.)
And if you like Christmas-y things year round, stop by Bronner's Christmas store!
10. Corning, NY
At Corning, New York, you can grab a ticket to see The Nutcracker Ballet, on Dec 10th at the Rafel Grigarian Ballet Theatre. Take a brisk stroll and shop small at the local craft vendors, and holiday market at point of the bluff.
There will also be food and wine pairing.
And Christmas in the Park, to make memories with the whole family!
Road Trip
Before you book those plane, or train tickets, unless you decide to opt for a road trip, (in which is my favorite!) make sure to pack accordingly to the weather, stay safe, (traveling with a friend or family member is always a good idea,) and don't forget to have the extra cozy blankets, water and all the things you might need in case of an emergency.
