A Guide
I was sitting back and thinking to myself, "What sounds absolutely splendid to do on a boring summer?" And as God as my witness, the quickest of answers that has ever came to me was this. A Summer Party!
So, naturally I ran straight to Pinterest for inspiration. Like any other time, I go looking for info on something, such as recipes, style and now, Parties.
Obviously, the main key points that stood out the most, were activities, decor, food, drinks, and the invitations. I was even lucky enough to find a few extra goodies that I think that will liven up any party!
Allow me to introduce to you, the event of the season, hosted by you!
(Name of soiree of your choosing)
First things first, come up with a catchy, fun or cute name for the party!
Or what are you going to put as the headliner on the invites?
I always find this part fun and gives me a creative outlet to put together a quick and colorful summer scheme with a great font, time/date and personalized to person.
Now it's time to print and mail those babies out!
Theme
Next, is executing the Theme. One must have a good idea of what you would like your outing to be like. Classy? Beachey? Layback? A hint of Groovy?
How about all four! And I'll explain just how to do it. That way you can throw a sweet soiree, for the people who like to shake it, too the people who like to kick back and enjoy those around them.
For the Theam I'm going to pitch today, will show just how much you can be the hostess with the mostest!
The colors I've chosen are a verity of blues, pinks and a hint of light peach coral.
Think 'A day at the beach, brought home with you to enjoy long into the evening.'
Decoration & more
When I first began collecting decor ideas, there were a handful that I knew I had to incorporate them into the party planning!
What you will need:
Hanging lights.
Flowers (Type of choice) & vases.
Taper Candles (Color of choice.)
White lace table runner.
Cute & comfy pillows & blankets.
A big hanging sheet.
Movie projector.
An automatic bubble machine.
Plain white, smooth candles & mini color candles as "paint" w/ brushes.
Playlist ready.
Goodie bags for guests.
Glassware.
(I'll show you how to put it all together shortly! Xx.)
Food & Drink
Below I have compiled a list of foods/drinks with recipes for you to easily follow like a breeze! That any foodie will enjoy.
(These are recipes that I have found online and as soon as I saw them I knew I had to share these tasty treats with others!)
A Frosted Lemonade
Ingredients:
1/2 cup coconut cream in can
7/16 cup honey raw
1/3 cup of fresh lemon juice
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup almond yogurt
3 cups of ice
(This is also healthy!) You will combine all ingredients except for the ice. You will need to crush up the ice using a blender until it's like a snow cone. Now, you may combine all together and serve. You can even chill for a little while if you would like.
You can add extra berries if desired! #yum
(Servers 2.)
The best (beach Theme) sugar cookies
With these 4 ingredient morsels, all you will need is a set of summer/beachy shaped cookie cutters and the following:
Ingredients:
1 cup of butter that's softened
1 tsp almond extract
2 cups of all purpose flour
2/3 cup of granulated sugar
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. combine the sugar and butter into a nice size mixing bowl, beat well to combine. Now add the flour with the extract and mix together till smooth. Roll out about half an inch thick and cut into fun shapes with cookie cutters, next, place onto a lined tray with parchment paper. Sprinkle a little sugar on top and bake for another 15 minutes or until bottoms are nice and golden but not too hard. Let cool before adding any icing and serve!
(Makes about 20.)
Strawberry Caprese Salad
Ingredients:
8 oz mini mozzarella cheese balls
2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
8 oz cavatappi
1 black pepper fresh
1 sea salt
1/2 cup of basil fresh
10 oz strawberries
1/4 cup of extra virgin olive oil
Cook the pasta and then add the mozzarella and tasty strawberries. a dash of olive oil on top and salt, then add the pepper. toss, and add the basil leaves to finish off!
(Serves 4. 20 min.)
Extra For You
I wanted to give at least one drink, one lunch option and one desert. BUT, I thought a few extra foods/drinks inspo would be a great addition too.
So, here are some lovely options to add to the menu!
It's all coming together
Remember when I said how I was going to show you how all of the decorations and more was going to come together? That's what I'm going to do right now.
First off on our list we have Lights and really, any lights will do. But I usually prefer the warm soft glow hanging lights that are strung above the sitting table and/or the dance floor area! Especially if you are going for the day lasting into the evening and eventually night, sort of party.
Next, is Flowers. I try to think of the color scheme first, then find the perfect shades that will bring more color. You can choose whatever style, type, and color your heart desires.
For me, I have chosen pink like a Light Pink Dahlia with a blue like Light Blue Delphinium, something small and white like Baby's Breath sprigs, and a hint of peach like Just Joey Roses.
Like any classy soiree, candles are a nice touch. Especially Taper Candles. The varigated white with light pinks and greens are my favorite!
I have also stated on the list that you will need Regular white candles and smaller Colorful candles and Paint brushes. This is a layback activity, that is easy and fun! Simply light the little colorful candles, as these will be the "paint" in which you can brush onto the white candles. You can make little flowers, hearts, and even words if you so choose.
I haven't done this myself yet, but I can't wait to try it!
(Please be careful when lighting and keep away from children.)
When choosing a Table cloth and Runner, I've always found that a White lace or as such is a nice touch and brings the table and around it lighter. Of course, you will be adding the flowers, the dishware and decor, this will add the color with the white nicely.
For the Glassware, I recommend dainty crystal, with either plain, or light blues or pinks. And as the Dishware, a verity of large and smaller white plates that have a touch of color.
(I'll show photo ideas at the end of the post.)
As for the Comfy pillows and Blankets, you can use the pillows to sit on as chairs and the blankets for extra comfort when or if it gets a bit chilly towards night fall.
I would go with light colors, with a sheet underneath to keep them clean and not touch the ground.
A good rule of thumb is to always be prepared for anything. With saying this, now is a good time to check for mosquito spray repellent, or citronella candles will work too. And extra first aid kits are always handy when having a party.
Now it's time to hang up that Big white sheet and set up the Movie projector for a late-night movie showing! Movie is completely up to you. Although I do suggest something summer Theam. For the Theam I have had in mind, I would choose, "Mama Mia"
one of my favorites!
Let's not forget Goodie bags! I love creating and coming up with fun bags to put together! If you want to take it a step further, you can personalize them to your guests, that they will love!
Things you can include are Sunglasses, chap sticks, jewelry, fancy straw that is reusable with cup, Personalized shirts or bags, handheld wooden collapsible fans, and chocolates, to name a few.
If you would like to put a little extra, set up an Automatic bubble machine! Who doesn't love bubbles AND they give off a playful feel, while letting the entire Neiborhood know where the extravaganza is being held!
(This also helps for your guests to find you. You can say, "Just find the house with the bubbles!"
Last on our list, is the Playlist. How can you possibly throw a party, without the right tunes!? I'll answer you this, you can't. And with following the Theam, keep "beachy" in mind. Maybe some Beach boys, Abba, UB40, that sort of thing.
Like when I previously mentioned, when showing the movie, I would go for Mama Mia, and if you have noticed, I have sort of leaned lightly towards the Theme.
Because wo doesn't want to dance on a tabletop, singing Dancing Queen at the top of your lungs at least once in your life.
(You can find many great ones already made on Spotify or create your own.)
Get your Groove On!
Now that the invitations are sent, it's the date of the party, and everything is set up, it's time to enjoy the fruits of your labor and have a wonderful time!
Before you know it, everyone will be begging you to throw the next bash.
I know I'll definitely be taking part in this fun, and I hope you have enjoyed this article as much as I have writing it.
Extra Inspiration
As promised, here is the extra photos that I've came across, and found them perfect!
Oh, and one more thing, dressing up is highly encouraged! I'm talkin' that beautiful dress you never knew where to wear it too? Put it on! That hat that goes with any summer fit? Grab it before heading out the door! And let's not forget the elegant glove wears deserve extra credit points!
If you like posts such as this one, I will try to create more in the future.

Will you be throwing a Summer Soiree?
You betcha!!
Respectfully not my thing.
Currently: Watching The Mummy (1999 version.) Because It's one of my favorites and I haven't sat down to watch it in years. (And I know, super summery lol.)
This last week has been on and off with busy and relaxing days, and today is a busy one!
But I always make time for the blog and my writing.
Anyway, I'm off to treat myself a little self-care, and get a few other things done before the night's out. Have a beautiful day. And until next week. Xx.
This is such a fun and cheerful thing to read. I love that you shared these recipes as well. It gives me ideas for the summer while it’s still on. I hope your having a great week. :)
